Carla West

All 27 years of my teaching career have been in Catholic schools. I have taught at Epiphany in Coon Rapids; St Martin de Porres School in Columbia, South Carolina; and the last 17 years at St Therese. For 22 years I was a 4th or 5th grade classroom teacher, including my first 12 years at STS. Seven years ago I was asked to assume to role of K-5 Science teacher. It has been an adventure ever since and I learn new things every day! Along with teaching, I serve as Athletic Director and love coaching basketball! Quiz Bowl coach is a third hat I wear at St Therese. Away from my school family, I have three younger sisters who have blessed me with five nieces and nephews. I like to do CrossFit once a week to challenge myself, and enjoying swimming too. Chasing after the family, both biological and past STS students, brings me a lot of joy as I love watching all the kids grow up and do well in the activities they choose to pursue. It makes me so happy when alumni students and families come back and continue to support what is happening at St Therese School.
