Kindergarten Readiness

The year ahead

Kindergarten readiness is not a checklist we cram for; it is the natural result of how our children spend their days.

How play builds readiness

With Creative Curriculum, a research-based early childhood curriculum, our play-based activities center on early literacy skills, early math skills and the social skills children need to be ready for kindergarten. Because the activities are pleasurable, intrinsically motivating and child-selected, children practice these skills gladly, all while growing physically, taking healthy risks and growing in faith in God.

A familiar school from day one

Children who move from our Early Learning Center into St. Therese kindergarten already know the campus, the chapel, the forest and many of the teachers. They have attended Mass with a Mass Buddy, visited the school specialists and made friends across grades. The transition to a full day of school happens in a place that already feels like home.

And once they arrive

Our kindergarten program keeps the momentum going. St. Therese kindergarten students complete the first grade Saxon math curriculum, establishing a strong foundation of computation and problem-solving early in their educational journey, and our kindergarten teachers help the Kinder Kiddos and their parents settle into school life.
