Athletics

Compete and belong

Playing a team sport with friends and classmates builds camaraderie, develops physical skills, and is a lot of fun. At St. Therese, sports are a great way to get to know peers, try something new or refine current skills, and classmates support and cheer one another on.

Our league

St. Therese students in grades 4-8 compete in the South Side Youth Organization (SSYO) League with more than 20 other participating schools. The SSYO is made up of south metro parochial and non-public schools and offers competitive programs for boys and girls in a Christian atmosphere, where development of character and respect for all is emphasized just as much as athletic ability. All students are encouraged to participate regardless of skill, size or experience.

Our coaches

Volunteer parents, along with St. Therese alumni, often serve as coaches. It is a wonderful way for parents to share their leadership and skills and have fun with our student athletes.
