When parents give their time, students notice. Parental involvement makes a real difference in a child's education, and volunteering is also simply a joyful way to be part of your child's world. We invite you to share your time and talents with St. Therese School, and we appreciate your commitment to helping our students become the individuals God intended.
All volunteers who work with children must participate in our Safe Environment Program.
Background Check and VIRTUS Training: All volunteers must complete a background check and attend a VIRTUS training session before volunteering at St. Therese Catholic School. Visit VIRTUS Online to view all VIRTUS sessions available in the Archdiocese and for more information about VIRTUS training.
School programs
- Mentor Family Program: provide a personal connection for a new St. Therese family. Your knowledge of the nuts and bolts of the school is invaluable to an incoming family; help answer questions and share information.
- Art Adventures: introduce K-5 students to master works of art through this arts appreciation program created by the Minneapolis Institute of Art, with pieces celebrating a common theme each year. Training and materials are provided.
- Middle School Elective Instructor: Share your talents, career experience or a special skill with our middle school students. Volunteers lead a one-hour elective once per quarter, giving students the opportunity to explore new interests and learn from the expertise within our community. Topics can range from business, finance and technology to cooking, art, design, trades and more.
School Advisory Council
The School Advisory Council steers the pastor and principal in matters concerning the school, including policies and procedures. Interested in joining? Please email SAC@st-therese.org.
Parent Association
The Parent Association serves as a liaison between parents, teachers and administrators, and organizes volunteer support for school-wide activities. Interested in joining? Please email pa@st-therese.org.
